【摘要】:Radioactiveironisproducedbyneutronactivationofstableiron.Itsconcentrationinreactorcoolantisusedtomonitorthecorrosionofreactorpartssuchasreactorfuel-claddingmaterialandreactorstructuralcomponents.Thistechniqueeffectivelyremovesotheractivationandfissionproductssuchasisotopesofiodine,zinc,manganese,cobalt,andcesiumbytheadditionofhold-backcarriersandananionexchangetechnique.Thefissionproducts(zirconium-95andniobium-95)areselectivelyelutedwithhydrochloric-hydrofluoricacidwashes.TheironisfinallyseparatedfromZn+2byprecipitationofFePO4atapHof3.0.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationof55Feinthepresenceof59Febyliquidscintillationcounting.Thea-prioriminimumdetectableconcentrationforthistestmethodis7.4Bq/L.1.2Thistestmethodwasdevelopedprincipallyforthequantitativedeterminationof55Fe.However,afterpropercalibrationoftheliquidscintillationcounterwithreferencestandardsofeachnuclide,59Femayalsobequantified.1.3ThistestmethodwasusedsuccessfullywithTypeIIIreagentwaterconformingtoSpecificationD1193.Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforwatersofuntestedmatrices.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,seeSection9.
